Salary and Pay Advice Information
Current Online Pay Advice
Payslips are available for viewing through Employee Self Service (ESS) for employees in receipt of a fortnightly pay. To view a payslip, select the Employee Self Service link under Other Resources below to login to ESS, click on "My Pay Details" and "view Payslip" then click on the link to the required payslip. Payslips can be viewed, printed, saved or emailed as required. Adobe PDF Reader must be installed on your computer to view the PDF file. The Payslip opens in a "pop-up" window. Please allow "Pop-ups" for the Department on your computer.
Access to ESS is only available from Department locations where the computer is logged onto the Department's intranet.
Previous Online Pay Advice (prior to transfer to eduPay)
All pay advices prior to an employee's transfer to eduPay may be accessed by clicking the HRMS Online Pay Advice link under Other Resources below.
When accessing a secure website such as the HRMS Online Pay Advice site, web browsers, including Microsoft Internet Explorer, provide the option to save the username and password to avoid re-entering this each time the site is accessed.
This can be useful where there is only one user on a particular computer. However if it is a shared computer or one that was previously used by someone else, and the new user accesses the same site, access will occur using the saved user's details.
The following process should remove the saved details from Microsoft Internet Explorer and prevent the problem recurring:
- Launch Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Click the Tools menu
- Click Internet Options on the drop-down menu
- When the dialog box opens, click the Content tab
- Under the heading of Personal Information, click the Auto Complete button
- Where it is a shared computer (eg: in a staff room), click off the User names and passwords on forms check box
- To clear stored/saved passwords, click the Clear Forms and Clear Passwords buttons
- Click Ok, and then OK again to save the changes.
If a different web browser is being used, check its Help information to determine how to address the above.
Calculation of Salary
Salary calculations are based on the following:
Hourly Rate = (annual salary + annual allowances) ÷ 26.0893* ÷ 76 hours (do not adjust for employee's time fraction)
Daily Rate = the employee's hourly rate multiplied by their standard daily hours. The standard daily hours for a full-time employee are 7.6 hours (7 hours and 36 minutes).
An employee's fortnightly rate can be calculated using either of the following:
- Hourly rate multiplied by the hours worked for the fortnight; or
- (Annual salary + annual allowances) ÷ 26.0893 x time fraction
*26.0893 is the average number of fortnights in a calendar year.
