Equal Opportunity

The right to live and work free from discrimination and sexual harassment in Victoria is protected by both Commonwealth and State legislation. The legislation defines the minimum requirements for ensuring equal opportunity in the workplace.

The Department and educational institutions have an obligation under Victorian and Commonwealth Equal Opportunity and Human Rights legislation to ensure workplaces are free of discrimination and harassment and employees are made aware of their rights and responsibilities.
